A Bit About Me
Jemima Nicholls
Certified Holistic Sleep Coach
& Maternity Nurse
Baby-mad from day one, I have always adored babies (human or animal) or anything little I could look after. When a family friend had a maternity nurse herself, it was a no-brainer that this was the job for me!
I have since been extremely lucky to have worked with twins, triplets, babies and parents with disabilities, extreme allergies, fully staffed households, VIP families, and have travelled all over the world with them.
As a former insomniac, I took a particular interest in sleep and have witnessed how much it impacts a family and their wellbeing. This led me to specialising as a sleep coach. Successfully restoring sleep into the heart of families, following the birth of a baby in the most gentle and natural way has become a real passion of mine.
I understand and am empathetic to the excitment and anxiety that comes with welcoming a new baby into the world! Using my personally formulated, holisitc approach, my goal is to assist in making the experience as easy and enjoyable for everyone involved, ensuring you as a family are able to get the maximum amount of sleep possible in those early days. Following my gentle methods, we will be able to naturally coax your baby into a simple routine, using healthy sleep habits from day one. The importance of this is that it allows your baby to sleep longer stretches until they are sleeping through, without the need for harsh 'sleep training' or 'cry it out' methods later, because there are simply no bad habits to undo.

My Philosophy
It is essential to me that the families I work for understand, from the get-go, that the overall wellbeing of not only the baby, but the entire familly is of paramount importance. In my opinion the most important way of maintaining this is to ensure optimum sleep for everyone involved. This starts with the baby. When the baby sleeps, parents can. This allows mum to recover from birth at optimum speed. If there are other children within the family, they have better rested parents during this huge time of change for them. It allows the addition of a new sibling to be a pleasure for them if their parents are in a positive headspace. Furthermore with the other parent usually returning to work only two weeks later (if they take leave at all), they are able to function more efficiently too. It also allows the newborn stage to flow as smoothly as possible, with parents able to treasure and enjoy it to the max!

I am a sleep 'coach' not 'trainer'. My approach is holisitc and routine-led. It allows the family to have structure to their day and ensures a happy and content baby. The most important thing about a routine for a little one is that you meet their needs before they need to get upset about them = happy and content baby.
My personally formulated methods are as gentle as can be. They naturally coax your baby into a simple, minimalistic routine. Implementing healthy sleep habits from day one to avoid the need for ever having to 'sleep train' or 'cry it out'. Because the point of it all is that there is never any 'unhealthy habits' to undo.
Babies needs comfort, warmth and love. I want them to sleep because they feel safe, confident and secure.
